About the Event

A five-class series taught by Judith Blackstone and Zoran Josipovic
(Wednesdays, February 29; March 7, 14, 21, 28; 7-9pm)

Zoran will discuss the latest scientific research on nondual awareness and the brain. Judith will teach an embodied approach to nonduality, including how nondual awakening can be stabilized, how it can enhance relationships, and facilitate psychological healing.

The series will conclude with an all-day retreat, which will be open to all.

Wednesday, February 29; 7-9PM

Nonduality and the Brain
A workshop with Zoran Josipovic, PhD

Join Zoran in exploring the intersection of nonduality and brain science, where deep practice and current neuroscience research meet. Guided exercises in meditation and nonduality will be balanced with talks on what is happening in the brain. This workshop will be an opportunity to explore both the dualistic nature of our ordinary minds and the nondual nature of our essential awareness.

An Embodied Approach to Nonduality
A workshop with Judith Blackstone, PhD

Judith will teach a method of embodied nondual awakening called the Realization Process.  In this approach, the radical openness of nonduality is revealed by making deep contact with the internal space of one's body, and with a subtle channel in the vertical core of the body.  As we inhabit the internal space of the body, the constructed or imagined boundary between self and other dissolves.  We uncover an unbounded expanse of unified, transparent presence that pervades our body and environment as a whole.  In this way, we find an authentic experience of ourselves as individuals at the same time as we transcend our individuality.

Nonduality and Relationships
A workshop with Judith Blackstone, PhD

In this workshop, Judith will teach relational attunement practices for opening to nondual awareness with a partner.  Nondual awakening deepens and refines our capacity for contact: with ourselves, with our environment, and with other human beings.  We are able to see, hear and touch with the bare perception of our true nature.  When two people open to nondual awareness together, they experience mutual transparency: a single expanse of awareness pervading them both as a unity. They also experience resonant connection between the essential qualities of their being, such as intelligence, love, and physical sensation.

What can Neuroscience tell us about Meditation?
A workshop with Zoran Josipovic, PhD

Research into the effects of meditation on the brain is gaining unprecedented public and scientific attention these days. Studies show that the practice of meditation has profound effects on the brain, inducing changes in both its functioning and anatomy. An equally important question is what does neuroscience have to contribute to our practice of meditation? This workshop will explore both the ways in which nondual practices can inform the scientific quest for understanding the brain and consciousness, and the ways in which science can bring a contemporary understanding to our practice of meditation.

Nonduality and Psychotherapy
A workshop with Judith Blackstone, PhD

Judith will teach psychological attunement exercises for recognizing and releasing the subtle holding patterns that constrict our body, energy and mind.  The release of these patterns facilitates and expands nondual awakening. The nondual essence of our being has never been injured. As we uncover it, we become free of depression, anxiety, bitterness and confusion. We also develop compassion for ourselves and others and increase our capacity for pleasure.
