100 Hour Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training – David Nichtern

May 8th through August 2nd

This training will help you gain a more complete understanding of meditation practice and an overview of the stages of the Buddhist path. It will also help you to deepen your own practice, and develop your ability to present mindfulness meditation in a clear and genuinely helpful way to others in both a group and 1-1 setting.

During the training there will be group practice, teaching exercises, additional individual practice and study requirements. Students will be asked to practice mindfulness meditation for a minimum of 20 minutes per day, at least 5 days a week for the duration of the program.Additional details will be presented for smaller group practice and mock teaching sessions once the program is underway.

The program is aimed at those who wish to become more skillful in presenting meditation – such as yoga teachers, health care professionals, social workers, psychologists, educators, and fitness trainers. It will also be appropriate for those who simply want to deepen their own practice and understanding.

After successful completion of the full training program, Teacher Trainees will receive a certification of completion from Tibet House to teach meditation classes, lead group practice sessions, and work with individual students within appropriate contexts.

100 hours includes four 3-day weekends as well as additional individual practice and study requirements.

Level 1 can be taken as a stand alone introductory weekend. However to attend Levels 2 through 4, you must complete Level 1 – The levels must be taken sequentially.
