Dr. Alexander Gardner, Director of The Treasury of Lives, will discuss his new book, The Life of Jamgon Kongtrul the Great, the first-ever extensive biography of Tibet’s most famous nonsectarian Buddhist lama. Well-known for preserving Tibetan Buddhist lineages in an era of great political strife, Kongtrul is one of the most important figures of the 19th-century Rimé period. Discussion and reading will be followed by a Q&A and book-signing with the author.
