Classical Qigong with Paul Bloom: 12 Taoist Rejuvenations Awakening Your Spirit, Expressing It and Finding Harmonious Grace

10AM-5PM; Saturday, November 2 | Saturday, December 14

The “12 Taoist Rejuvenations” is easily my most favorite set to practice.  If there were only one set I could do, this would be the one.  Kwan Sai-hung, strongly connected to the famous Hua Shan Monastery in Northern China, taught me this set.  He claimed that the ladies of the imperial Ching Dynasty court (19th century) were required to come to Hua Shan to learn this set.  It is truly beautiful, containing many animal forms, including Sea Horse, Crane Spreading Its Wings, Divine Frog, Turtle, Swimming Dragon, and Phoenix Rising.

The “Taoist Rejuvenations” circulate and balance the qi in your 3 energy centers or dan tians/elixir fields.  These 3 dan tians are located just below your navel, at your heart center and in the area of your Third Eye; and correspond respectively to your Body/Physical, Mind/Emotional, and Spirit/Consciousness.  Ideally you harmonize the 3 dan tians to create Physical Vitality, Love and Wisdom.  With more introductory sets, the result is a feeling of physical well-being in your lower dan tian at your navel.  But with this set, your upper dan tian in your brain is more activated, creating a wonderful sense of harmonious grace.  Where you can more easily find your natural rhythms, move more effortlessly and poetically, as you express your spiritual personality.

We will first warm up and practice the “8 Brocades of Silk-Standing,” a famous introductory set to become physically vital, calm the mind, balance the emotions, and awaken the spirit.

This creates a strong and stable foundation for expressing your spirit.

Then we will focus on the “12 Taoist Rejuvenations.”

And intermittently we will do seated meditations to become more sensitive to the flow of energy in the “Taoist Rejuvenations.”

This will be the program for all three workshops.  It is advisable to come to all three, but one can take the workshops individually.

Everyone is welcome!

Video links of the practices will be available.
