Wednesdays; 7-9PM – March 4, 11, 18 & 25  – 

2019 has been a big year for Lama Tsong Khapa, or Jey Rinpochey, as the Tibetans affectionately call him. In the first of these classes, March 4, 11, 18 & 25, Robert Thurman will teach Tsong Khapa’s foundational vision of reality, “emptiness the womb of compassion,” and detail the history of how he follows on Shakyamuni, Bagarjuna, Chandrakirti, and Atisha in doing so. He will also touh on how the present Great Fourteenth Dalai Lama” is once again leading the planet in this direction. In the latter two classes, he will teach on the way in which Jey Tsong Khapa unified that basic treaching with the higthest lefel of the esoteric tantras, with a fresh look at tantgri practice and how it can be implemented once the foundation has been stabilized.

Robert Thurman is Professor of Indo-Tibetan Studies at Columbia University, Emeritus; President of Tibet House U.S.; and President of the American Institute of Buddhist Studies. He is a popular lecturer on Tibetan Buddhism, the translator of many philosophical treatises and sutras, and author of numerous books including the national bestsellers, Inner Revolution: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Real Happiness; Infinite Life; The Tibetan Book of the Dead; and many others. His most recent book is Man of Peace: The Illustrated Life Story of the Dalai Lama of Tibet published by Tibet House US, with Hay House International.
