Thursday, June 14 – Lunchtime Meditation with Mary Reilly Nichols will include Sound Meditation guided by Franck Raharinosy.

Take a mid-day pause to refresh your mind and re-establish your center in the midst of bustling city life. Meditation is a powerful tool to eliminate stress, to heal the body, mind, and brain, and to enhance your personal well-being and positive relationship with the world. Join Nalanda Institute faculty as they lead Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime meditation sessions at Tibet House.

Gong meditations, a type of Sound therapy, have been around for thousands of years as a way of healing. Multiple tones and overtones build as it is played, creating layers of sounds which can be directly felt by those experiencing it. nd emotionally it helps to quieten the mind. The gong is said to cut through the ego, leaving a person to be their authentic self. It can help us to come into our neutral, meditative mind.

About the Presenters

Mary Reilly Nichols

Mary Reilly Nichols holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Harvard University and completed five years of residency in meditation ashrams in India and the US. A devoted student of Muktananda, she has taught yoga and meditation in New York City for over thirty years. Her teaching combines Iyengar, Integral and Anusara styles of Hatha Yoga with the Upanishadic tradition of the wisdom and experience of non-duality. She offers frequent workshops on classical yoga philosophy and psychology, including Advaita Non-Dualism and the Tantric methods of Kashmiri Shaivism. Currently, Ms. Nichols teaches stress management in psychiatric settings and is involved in ongoing research on the mind/body benefits of yoga and meditation.

Franck Raharinosy

Franck Raharinosy is a socially-driven entrepreneur and co-founder of the ping-pong social clubs, SPiN. Driven by curiosity, Franck has managed to build a life out of turning his passion and purpose into business ideas that span genres. Over the last few years Franck attended many Sound Meditation and started witnessing the benefits by really slowing down, feeling more present and grounded. Out of love, Franck decided to learn to guide Gong Meditation and share this gift with friends, family, larger groups, his own work team and people in need of whom he often offers it for free.
